Danganronpa 2x2 Monomi (Usami) in 2x2
The pink rabbit still wants a hope trip. The Japanese voice is new. The English voice is not.
Monomi is the series’ other mascot: Usami the teacher, then Monomi the rabbit after Monokuma rebrands her. She is still on the official 2x2 collage. She still loses arguments with the bear. Danganronpa 2x2 is the first mainline game where both mascots have new Japanese voices, and players keep mixing the two recasts into one headline. This page is the rabbit. The bear’s JP recast is Wasabi Mizuta (October 24, 2025) and lives on the Monokuma article.
Japanese recast — November 28, 2025
Spike Chunsoft named Kinuta Oshiro (大代キヌ太) as Japanese Monomi, replacing the late Takako Sasuga (died February 2023). Oshiro came up as a YouTube and SNS creator, joined DLE in 2023, directed Kaijū Sekai Seifuku, and had episode-direction credits on a Crayon Shin-chan spinoff. Producer Shohei Sakakibara said the staff picked Oshiro unanimously for an “excessive Monomi-ness” in the audition. This is billed as Oshiro’s first major game voice role.
The greeting video in the middle of this page is the official introduction clip Spike posted the same day. It is 45 seconds of character, not a trial spoiler. Watch it if you care how the new JP take sits in your ear. Skip random “Monomi death” compilations; those are 2012.
Oshiro also appeared at the November 29, 2025 15th Anniversary Fes Special Stage as a surprise walk-on. That is flavor. It is not a gameplay unlock.
English — unchanged
Rebecca Forstadt returns as English Monomi, announced with the rest of the Goodbye Despair English cast on March 10, 2026. The full table is on the cast roster. If a thumbnail says “new Monomi voice,” check the language. JP new, EN returning is the actual split.
Why this recast exists
Sasuga originated the role across the 2012 game and later ports. 2x2 is a full voice-over product on modern hardware; Spike could not leave a silent rabbit. The same respect language Spike used for Tarako → Mizuta on Monokuma applies here: the original performance stands, the 2027 build needs a living actor. Original mode will therefore sound different in Japanese even when the plot is the remastered 2012 case list. That is not a Slayhem twist. That is a recast.
What Monomi is for, mechanically
She is not a secret playable. Player count is 1; you are Hajime. Monomi is the NPC who wants Fragments of Hope, school-trip bonding, and a version of Jabberwock Island that is not a killing game. Class Trials still belong to Monokuma’s clock. Do not build a “Monomi ending” theory from a greeting clip.
In merch she is equal to the bear: the Vacation Package’s Kidrobot set is Monokuma and Monomi in tropical paint. If you are buying the $139.99 box for one figure, read editions before you pretend the rabbit is a free extra.

This page will not rank Monomi’s survival in Original or Slayhem. 2012 players already know an Original-mode arc. Slayhem is a different victim and culprit list after one incident; we do not assume the rabbit’s job is identical. Watch labeled 2x2 trailers. Do not import V3 or anime-only Monomi facts into this SKU.
