Danganronpa 2x2 Character Watch List

Danganronpa 2x2 has no ranked ladder. This page exists because people still search “tier list.” What they mean, before January 14, 2027, is who should I pay attention to? The answer is a watch list, not a win-rate table.

Tiers below are attention, not power. A student in C is still a person who can wreck a trial. They are just less useful to study in a pre-launch week than Hajime.

S — You will stare at these anyway

• Hajime Hinata — You are him. Notes, reticle, vote. Skip this “rank” and you skip the game.
• Chiaki Nanami — Marketing face, rules-brain, spoiler magnet. Study the talent, not the wiki rants.
• Nagito Komaeda — Luck as a mechanic. Trailers already attach Slayhem items to his mouth.
• Monokuma — The rules engine. If you do not understand the bear, you do not understand Class Trial.

A — Learn the talent, you will need the word

These Ultimates show up in almost every island conversation and are easy to mix up if you only know them as “the pink one” or “the loud one.”

• Kazuichi Soda (Mechanic) — on the pier screenshot with Hajime. Machines, boats, cowardice jokes.
• Sonia Nevermind (Princess) — world trivia, sincerity, easy to underestimate.
• Gundham Tanaka (Breeder) — ham, hamsters, speeches. You will hear him.
• Mikan Tsumiki (Nurse) — medical evidence is a trial genre. Our trial screenshot uses her HUD nameplate.
• Ibuki Mioda (Musician) — volume, alibis that involve stages and sound.
• Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu (Yakuza) + Peko Pekoyama (Swordswoman) — study as a pair; their talents interact.

B — Important, but you can learn them in Free Time

• Akane Owari (Gymnast) — body, food, blunt honesty.
• Nekomaru Nidai (Team Manager) — volume plus coaching metaphors.
• Mahiru Koizumi (Photographer) — cameras are evidence machines.
• Hiyoko Saionji (Traditional Dancer) — social knife. Listen to what she says about other people.
• Teruteru Hanamura (Cook) — kitchens, knives, timing. Do not let the jokes turn your brain off.
• Byakuya Togami (as presented) — money, arrogance, a name that veterans should not explain in voice chat.

C — Still in the yearbook

• Yasuhiro Hagakure (Clairvoyant) — part of the 2012 class, not in the March 2026 English VA video. Do not pretend we heard his 2x2 line.
• Monomi — sits with Monokuma on the bear page. Not a student Ultimate, still on every merch sheet.

How to use this list in Original vs Slayhem

Attention tiers do not change between modes. Plot roles might. If you boost someone to S because “they survived 2012,” you have already broken the Slayhem contract. Use this list to learn names. Use the game to learn fates.

A returning player who only restudies S-tier and then boots Slayhem is doing it right. A returning player who only restudies a 2012 death order article is doing it wrong. See returning players.

What this list is not

• Not Free Time “best friend” math. Gift tables wait until launch.
• Not a beauty contest. Key art already did that.
• Not legal advice about who is “the killer.” That question is how wikis get people banned from their own friend group.

Full names and VAs: cast roster. Systems: guides. When a post-launch meta exists (it will not be PvP), this hub can grow a second, clearly labeled list. Until then, S-A-B-C means “read in this order.”
